Ashdown Park Hotel (Gorey, Ireland)

The rooms were spacious and well lit. Decor and amenities are some of the reasons that many guests return for multiple visits. In particular, if you are very tall or large, these rooms will accommodate you without any problem.

For those guests that like to light up, the hotel offers their own smoking lounge. There is still no smoking in the rooms, but most don't mind as the ambience of the smoking room is perfect. While there you can sit back, enjoy a smoke, sip on something refreshing and plan your next outing.

This hotel is close to everything and a short five minutes' walk will get you to some lovely shops and restaurants in Garden City. Guests particularly love going to an eatery named The Pig's Tale to enjoy local foods.

All of the guests agree that the bathroom fan is always on for some reason. The hotel even acknowledges it by having complimentary earplugs in the room, rather than fixing the problem.

Many guests found themselves assigned the handicapped access room even though they were not handicapped. In addition, it is located directly behind the smoking lounge and as a result the room smells like one giant ash tray.

Many guests remarked that perhaps the housekeeping staff might make a point of dusting things when they came in to tidy each day, as the dust problem seems to have been an issue with more than one guest staying there. Those with allergies will need to particularly think twice.
