The food offered by the hotel has received lots of positive reviews for the quality and the large choice available. The portion sizes are also generous and the service from restaurant staff is excellent.
The hotel has been undergoing some construction work and as such there is a lot of noise from drilling, banging and general building work which has caused a lot of disturbance for guests throughout the day and prevented people sleeping later than 9am. Previous guests felt aggrieved that they were not warned about this, but the hotel puts this down to booking through a third party where communication is often lacking rather than directly with the hotel.
The rooms are starting to look a bit tired and dated with scratches on furniture, dirty carpets and things generally looking tattered and worn.
The location is not ideal for tourists as there is not much to see and do in the area, according to reviews. There apparently isn't a great deal down by the waterfront and not many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
