Located just 2.7 km from the majestic Arenal Volcano and with a spectacular view of Arenal Lake, Arenal Observatory Lodge & Spa (AOL) offers you the opportunity to discover, explore and relax. AOL is located within the Arenal Volcano National Park and surrounded by the natural environment. The 350 hectare private reserve includes 160 ha of secondary forest, 110 ha of natural forest and 80 hectares of agricultural land. The hotel has 48 rooms distributed across the property and surrounded by gardens. The majority of these rooms have a direct view of the volcano and/or the forest. We offer 11 km of trails in good condition for walking, horseback riding or bicycling. These trails traverse the property providing the opportunity to observe a variety of flora and fauna. Within the property and the surrounding areas you can encounter more than 400 species of birds. This makes AOL the preferred destination for birdwatchers and nature-lovers alike.
