Hotel Apartments Mia (Dubrovnik, Croatia)

Situated just yards away from the Old Town walls, the apartments at Mia benefit from being close to the action (all of the restaurants, shops and bars are easily accessible), yet also enjoying a peaceful area. The 16th Century fort of Lovrijenac can be reached in a few minutes and there are bays for swimming and canoeing a short distance away.

The apartment's genial hosts are what makes a stay at Mia memorable for many; they are more than happy to recommend the best restaurants, beaches to frequent and the quickest routes to find landmarks.

Apartments are individual in design and enjoy interesting features. Previous guests have described several of the apartments as feeling like a ships cabin or a cave, with wood panelling in one and exposed stone in another. All are well-equipped and contemporary enough for most.

A large part of Dubrovnik is set up as a pedestrianised zone and you should be aware that you will not be able to get close to the premises in a car. It can be a little tricky to find too, although locals and the tourist information centre nearby should be able to point you in the right direction.

For some guests, the apartment descriptions don't quite match reality. Balconies are not always private and some do not enjoy much sunlight, other apartments are lacking the advertised washing machine or have little in the way of kitchen equipment.

Perhaps due to the thick stone walls, the Wi-Fi connection on offer at Mia apartments is best described as spotty. Most guests, however, have suggested that you can always find a spot somewhere to pick up emails.
