Hotel Apartamentos Gelimar (Puerto Rico, Spain)

This a small complex of 12 apartments. The views from the property are amazing. It's in a quiet setting, away from the main road.

The main ‘plus' in this climate ... where to see a cloud in the sky is a major talking point ... is the lovely pool. It's a decent size and because the complex is small, it doesn't get over crowded.

The price is very reasonable and the folk who work here are friendly and helpful. The owners are a delight and the place is crawling with pets, many of which must be theirs! This creates a great atmosphere for animal lovers and for those who've brought their own pets … but may be a bit of a turn off for non-animal lovers. If, though, you bring yours, there's a vet ‘waiting in the wings' in case of illness or accident.

If only there was air conditioning, this place would be brilliant. As it is, the heat can be oppressive; making sleep difficult.

Apartments are looking a bit tired and drab now. They do clean daily but regular changing of bed linen is something they have yet to experience. The Wi-Fi isn't good. The space round the pool area is cramped and would you believe, ‘they' still get up early morning to reserve the (limited in number) sunbeds - and then don't use them.

You know that beds are singles, they make no secret of that, but you expect to shove them together to make a pretend double. Logistically, it can't be done! Try as you may, the beds remain singles … and that's it!
