Tabiano Castello dates back to the XI century and was built on the ruins of an old Roman settlement. It was the military stronghold of the Pallavicino family, one of the most powerful families of the era, which dominated this strategic area during the centuries of struggle between the Imperial and Vatican forces. Tabiano Castello has been at the centre of many historic events and presides over the rich salt wells and olive groves as well as the old pilgrim road to Rome - Via Francigena. Today, the medieval village part of the fortress has been transformed into a Relais de Charme offering exclusive living, relaxation and romance. Tabiano Castello houses about 40 charming and comfortable suites, apartments and rooms. The surrounding countryside is completely given over to farming. The Relais setting among the rolling hills is the ideal place for business meetings, training courses, congresses, wedding parties and celebrations. The 40 rooms, Standard, Superior and Junior Suites to choose from, are divided between the XIII century old guard tower, and the other historic buildings Locanda, Casa del Mezzadro and Casa del Sarto.
