Hotel Anessis (Fira, Greece)

The hotel is located just a short walk from the town centre with countless restaurants, nightclubs, touring companies, and entertainment options. Any type of food or fun is about a five-minute stroll.

The rooms are clean and comfortable and provide guests with what they'll need to have for a pleasant holiday. The pool has plenty of sun loungers and the views from the balcony are simply stunning.

The staff isn't multilingual, but tries very hard to embrace and attempt all the languages they encounter. The result is a fun and pleasant personality that is easy to connect with. As soon as you arrive, you'll be greeted with a smile and a drink and those welcoming and polite manners stay throughout your time there.

A "breakfast buffet" doesn't quite describe what you're offered each day. It's more of a standard continental fare with lots of carbohydrates, pre-packaged foods and drinks, and sugary snacks. Don't expect Greek cuisine or a freshly prepared meal.

Even though the hotel advertises double beds at your request, they seem to have mostly twin beds that can't be moved together. Overall, the beds are a bit firm and don't provide the best rest unless you're just exhausted.

The swimming pool is the only real amenity here and that leaves a bit to be desired. It is quite tiny and definitely not big enough for laps or splashing. It's better for a quick dip than real relaxation.
