Ancient Thera Apartments are family run and guests can expect personal and friendly service. The reception is very down to earth and warm and the owners love to share local knowledge with guests which is really helpful in finding the best places to explore on Santorini.

Apartments are kept very clean and are also very well maintained. The apartments are simply decorated with enough amenities for a comfortable stay and even though the square-footage is relatively small, the apartments nevertheless feel very spacious, bright and open.

Each apartment has its own private balcony which offer excellent views of the sea, the town and hills. There is also an open deck with tables and chairs where one can enjoy a meal or drink whist taking in the gorgeous surroundings of Perissa.

The free Wi-Fi on offer is generally very unreliable and the signal quality goes from strong to very weak without warning. The entire island seems to suffer from this poor Wi-Fi signal quality issue which is apparently due to strong winds that blow through the area.

Ancient Thera Apartments are based around a popular local restaurant that is almost always busy, especially in the evenings when service can easily carry on past midnight. Some nights the noise from the restaurant, which includes singing and loud music can carry on for long and goes even beyond the limits of sound-proofed apartments.

The apartments are very traditional and are also on the more affordable side of the spectrum. This may seem a bit too dated or old-fashioned for some, particularly those more accustomed to modern chain-hotel standards.
