If you get the option to book a room facing the river then by all means do so. Throwing back the curtains and feasting your eyes on the mighty Rhone and Lake Leman beyond is certainly a fine way to start your day. If you aren't lucky enough to score a room with a view then don't fret - you can always drink in the vistas from the restaurant's pleasant street-side terrace instead.
The Ambassador's highly prized location in the heart of the city makes it a top choice for sightseeing on foot. Having a tram stop and a ferry/boat trip jetty within five-minutes' strolling time is a massive bonus too as it means you can explore the city without having to drive at all.
It has to be said that a number of the guest rooms here are pretty spacious by central Geneva standards. The suites in particular offer a decent amount of square footage.
Be wary when booking a room here in the summer; many guests have noted that the A/C units in guest accommodations provide two choices only: weak or absent.
Do yourself a favour and avoid the lift if you can help it - it's so small it is pretty much guaranteed to bring out any latent claustrophobia you may have hidden deep within you.
Take the tiny lift and sketchy air-con out of the equation and you'll see that, on the whole, the Ambassador is actually pretty adept at delivering largely enjoyable holiday experiences.
