The building is a large historic Victorian in a grand setting of acres of lovely gardens, all facing Loch Fyne. From many guest rooms, you can sit and look out over this loch and Loch Gilp. Many rooms have sofas situated in front of large picture windows for just that effect.
Each room has a unique decor that looks like an actual cosy bedroom and nothing like an impersonal hotel chain stay. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and clean. The bathrooms are also a good size with many modern touches.
While the hotel does serve a freshly-cooked breakfast each morning, the hosts also offer a dinner menu upon request. In addition to this hot meal, guests are treated to pre-dinner drinks and wine and can have after-dinner tea and coffee in the lounge.

The beds and pillows have seen better days and have certainly had some use over the years. Based on the mattress conditions, it has been many years since the bedding has been upgraded. The beds and pillows are saggy and lumpy and won't give the best sleep if you're used to modern firm mattresses.
Since this is the only hotel in the area of Ardrishaig, the prices are hard to compare. However, it does seem a bit pricey for similar accommodations. Also, there are often extra charges on the bill for menu or drink items that aren't discussed at the time of ordering.
