Hotel Alkyon (Mykonos-Town, Greece)

The hotel has a free shuttle to local docks and the airport. The town is quite popular as a cruise port and the local area has a large shopping district with plenty to eat, drink, do, and see.

Much of the property has been refurbished. The rooms are spacious and are decorated with hints of luxury. The pool area overlooks the town and has breathtaking sunsets.

The hosts and staff are very friendly and work hard to resolve any problems and issues. They provide each guest with a list of recommended activities and places to eat, creating a feeling of trust in local businesses.

The bathrooms don't match the niceness of the bedrooms and rest of the unit. They are quite small with plastic shower curtains that have seen better days. The shower stalls are also quite small.

The breakfast buffet is nothing to write home about. The menu and offerings don't really change from day to day. The meal is average at best, although the coffee is quite good. Otherwise, the pastries will have to fill you up for the start of your day.

The walk to town is easy as cake, a casual stroll downhill. Take a deep breath for the hike back up that long and winding hill. It's a true killer, even for those in great shape. It is straight up and the walkways are narrow and uneven. Some of it not even paved. It is poorly lit in the dark, making for a dangerous trek.
