Hotel Alcaufar Vell (Sant Lluis, Spain)

The hotel is reasonably comfortable. In addition, they offer a few freebies like beers and cold beverages from the minibar.

You can expect a good choice of food during breakfast. There is a good range of pastries, breads, cheeses, and cold meats. Bacon and scrambled eggs are also available. The homemade patisserie is good too. Try dining beneath the olive trees in the laid-back atmosphere.

The location is serene, enchanting, with pleasant scents and beautiful nature. It's a perfect base to explore the eastern and southern parts of the island and the capital of Mahon.

You will need a car unless you prefer to walk around and visit places right within the small area. This is not necessarily a bad thing; however, if you want to get-away from your getaway, there's no other choice. The larger towns of Mahon and Saint Lluis are nearby; however, Mahon has a shorter season so many of the restaurants are closed in late October. The road leading up to the hotel is not well maintained and the path leading to the beach is not well marked.

If it rains while you are at the hotel, you can expect some surprises. It's not unheard of for visitors to step out of bed into a puddle of water. There have also been occasions of rain dripping onto beds!

The room sizes are decent but you might find a bit grime here and there. The pool could do with a deep cleaning as well.
