The Alboran Apartments aparthotel is well placed in the cosmopolitan area of Salou. The beach and Passeig Jaume I – which runs parallel to Llevant Beach - are approximately 150 yards away.
Studio accommodation features two single beds plus a sofa bed. The kitchenette has a refrigerator and microwave and there is a balcony with a table for dining.
The outdoor pool is open during the summer months. There is a lift to all six floors at Alboran Apartments and the reception desk has a 'safe' facility. Additionally, there are landscaped gardens and a children’s play area.
There are useful convenience store and market outlets just across the street. Breakfast cafes include El Tasto Taberna. Lidl and Spar are among the local convenience stores and restaurants/bars include Corcega, Grape Vine and Petit.
Port Aventura Theme Park is a little over a mile away and it is approximately 70 miles to Barcelona.
It’s an upbeat start to the holiday with these clean and well-presented apartments. The 2 single beds and pull-out sofa bed mean that up to four people can be accommodated. The small kitchen has everything you need for self-catering, but the huge number of restaurants, cafes and bars make it tempting to just eat out.
positive:
Good access.
There are six floors here and three lifts. The reception and other public areas are clean and well maintained and the lifts seem to be quick and trouble free. Busplana is the cheapest way to get here from the airport. They don’t make it easy though and there can be hurdles to climb in collecting the apartment keys from another point. Worth it though!
positive:
A lovely resort.
Salou buzzes with shops, bars and restaurants and the beach is superb. It’s a really lovely resort.

negative:
The ‘art’ of key collecting and check in.
It’s easier than it sounds but go past the supermarket Michelangelo (on your right) and then past the church with the Da Vinci Hotel on your right. Go past another (re-production) Michelangelo supermarket. The Auris building is in the next street (Berlin). Keys are collected – and deposit paid! – at Reception. Complicated, but it is actually only a few hundred yards away.

Language problems.
They’ll understand you OK in restaurants etc; but when checking in and out there can be a problem, so keep the documentation handy and save time.
negative:
Dreaming of ... Thursday.
There’s no daily room servicing and towels etc; are only changed once a week – on Thursday.
