About Ala House

The Ala House is a youth hostel, situated in downtown Riga, which is at the heart of the Old Riga Centre. It is a newly renovated 5-storey building. It is a small walk from some of the embassies, headquarters of major banks, companies, state ministries, major exhibition and historic centres. The main shopping venues, clubs and restaurants are also close by. It offers four types of accommodations, single rooms, double rooms, dorms and studios for families. All of these are comfortably furnished with a bed, a writing desk, chairs, wardrobe and mirror. Each floor has a rest room equipped with sofas, chairs, refrigerator, cupboards, dishes, a comfortable dining table, microwave, kettles, and a sink which the guests can use at any time. For every 2-3 rooms, there is a separate lounge, a shower and toilet. There is a restaurant, the Ala Taverna located on the first floor of the building and serves traditional Latvian cuisine and can house a 100 people at a time . The hostel is only three minutes away from the bus stop, which is in turn only five minutes from the airport and central station. The reception is open 24 hours.
