The African Soul Surfer is a backpackers and surfer’s paradise set near to the beach in Muizenberg just 21 kilometres from the city of Cape Town. The backpackers offers a wide range of accommodation to suit different guests, group sizes and budgets. Some rooms offer a private balcony with mountain or ocean views. There is a shared bathroom and complimentary Wi-Fi access is available. Yoga and Pilates classes are held each day and guests can enjoy a game of table tennis in the games room. The backpackers is literally right at the beach. There are many great spots for surfing and relaxing at the beach. The rooms have great views of the Atlantic Ocean. There are good restaurants and bars close by and there is a shop nearby. You can walk everywhere.
The general atmosphere is quite relaxed and well organised. The staff are young and friendly, and you are made to feel very welcome from the moment you arrive. The instructors are great and they make you feel comfortable whilst having your class.
There are many fun activities offered at this backpackers. You can enjoy a fantastic yoga or Pilates class with the friendly instructors or you can go out and learn to surf. They also offer a cool class where yoga and surfing is combined. The art and music nights are great fun and you can meet loads of people.
Guests have reported that they found the backpackers to be dirty. Guests have commented on the floors and table tops being dusty and sandy and the general untidy look of the interior. The shared kitchen and bathroom needs better attention by the cleaning staff.
