Holiday Inn Express & Suites San Antonio - Downtown Market Area, an IHG Hotel (San Antonio, USA)

Guests were thrilled to find ample room for the whole family at this hotel. A separate living area with a TV meant that someone could go to bed, while their travel companion stayed up to watch a late-night show. Kitchen facilities were also a big bonus, and guests said they saved money on eating out, not to mention the convenience of storing a snack in the refrigerator.

Guests found great value in the free parking. Plenty of space meant visitors to the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites San Antonio Downtown Market Area could easily leave the car behind for a day of sight-seeing on foot.

With a complimentary shuttle to the popular San Antonio River Walk, guests had another reason to leave the car behind. This was an additional amenity that contributed to an affordable stay.

Unfortunately, in addition to this hotel's great downtown location, it is also located next to a bar that is known to be noisy Thursday through Saturday. If you want the best possible sleep away from home, be sure to ask for a room that isn't in the back of the hotel.

Guests sometimes noticed bad odors in their rooms. Musty air-conditioners and smoky interiors were a workout for the nostrils, and some had to request a room change. Renovations are reportedly on-going at this hotel, so fingers crossed that rooms will be a breath of fresh air in no time.

Some air-conditioning units were too loud to bear for several guests.The only option for sleep was to turn the air-conditioning off, resulting in a sweaty night in bed. Luckily, windows opened to help alleviate the heat. Guests also had a pet peeve with air-conditioning that didn't adequately cool down the spacious two-room suites.
