The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chicago O'Hare could probably never be described as a luxury property. That said, many guests are of the opinion that the hotel offers excellent value for money, especially for those guests who are taking advantage of the property's park and fly package.

While it's fair to say that many guests use this hotel as a quick stopover before or after a flight, the location near Interstate 90 makes the property fairly convenient for visiting Chicago's attractions. There's good shopping nearby and Downtown Chicago can be reached in under an hour by car or train.

Guests tend to find that the rooms at the hotel are clean and offer a decent selection of amenities. Highlights include the comfortable beds, the choice of hard and soft pillows, and the complimentary Wi-Fi - which is said to work well.

Several guests mention that although the rooms are fairly spacious, the same cannot be said of the bathrooms. One guest rather amusingly suggests that the property takes its airport credentials a little too seriously and has designed their bathrooms to resemble an airplane bathroom. Unfortunately, some guests also mention mold and unwanted smells.

Soundproofing may be an issue at this hotel. The property hosts events such as weddings and it seems that the staff isn't averse to placing guests who aren't part of the party in rooms near the event. These guests report hearing loud music until late in the evening. Also, some guests mention being able to hear planes passing overhead.

While agreeing that the rooms are clean and comfortable, guests often comment that the rooms appear dated and in some cases, ill maintained. By contrast, the fitness facility and lobby are modern. Perhaps, upgrade budgets could be better directed.
