Hilo Seaside Hotel (Hilo, USA)

This hotel does not belong to a big chain. Little specials like their own museum on the ground floor about the Hilo history were things guests appreciated. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have all amenities you might need traveling. Many guests liked that this location has no resort fee, as many other bigger hotels charge. It is not a luxury location but if you enjoy staying a bit off the usual path, this hotel might appeal to you.

The hotel is right by the water. A shopping plaza and restaurants are not far from the location. It is easy to explore the island by car and see the sights. The airport is not too far if you do not want to rent a car. You can explore much of the island also by using the complimentary bikes they rent.

Hawaii prides itself for its hospitality, and many guests here felt the staff is living up to that standard. From recommendations to accommodating guests requests like later check out times they did everything in their power to make guests happy.

The closeness to the airport can make the daytime a bit more noisy. Some guests also had complaints about noise from the pool area if they had a pool facing room, though the hotel monitors the activities there.

Many rooms require you to climb stairs to get there as the hotel does not have an elevator. If you prefer less stair climbing ask for a room on the lower floor.

Some guests felt that the building is beyond its glory days. Though the rooms are updated, the building itself has not been recently renovated. It is really personal preference if you find this important, as the garden, pool area and rooms have all received positive reviews.
