Highcliffe Hotel (Aberporth, United Kingdom)

Most guests who check-in are looking for a relaxing seaside holiday in a beautiful natural setting. While many do seem to have problems with the hotel and apartments, they definitely do not fault Mother Nature. The surroundings are universally praised, and guests like that they have easy access to both the beach and coastal walks in the area.

While the hotel and apartments don't seem to get high marks, the owner is described as lovely, and very friendly. Some guests almost seem to feel bad being critical, considering how friendly and helpful the owner was to them.

The food at Coracle Restaurant, both the breakfast and dinner, got a good deal of praise from guests. Many seemed to especially enjoy the seafood dishes that were often on the menu.

The overwhelming consensus seems to be that the property is in dire need of a fairly major renovation. According to guests it is not merely a question of the décor being outdated, but rather that things seem to be falling apart a bit and need to be replaced.

Unfortunately it wasn't only the décor and fittings guests took issue with. Many were also very unhappy with the state of cleanliness of their rooms on check-in. Many speak of cobwebs and carpet stains, and a general feeling that the rooms had not been properly cleaned.

While there was a lot of praise for the food at the restaurant, there were also quite a few comments that it did not offer enough variety. It appears that long term visitors may get a bit tired of the offerings.
