Good menu choices.

Breakfast and dinner choices are good and well prepared and presented. There’s a nice menu of bar snacks although, as a side issue, if you are looking for cask ales, you’ll need to go to the Wynnstay arms next door!

The hotel is also on the perfect pitch and only a 10 minute walk from the international Eisteddfod and town centre attractions. Icing on the cake comes in the form of the exceptional views over the River Dee, enjoyed from a number of hotel bedrooms.

Llangollen is a really busy town and popular tourist centre, so parking is difficult to say the least. It’s great then that, as hotel guests, there’s a fair amount of free car parking here. Once you’ve got your space, the car can stay there as everything

No lift.

In the absence of a lift and with accommodation spread over a number of floors, guests of a ‘certain age’ may find this hotel to be far from ideal!

Small rooms.

In any old building, rooms range from small to large and spacious. If in a small room, they’re OK for limited periods but not for longer stays.

Fading quickly.

Many areas are now dated and in need of an overhaul. It has to be stressed though, that rooms are still very clean and well maintained.
