The Mayan Grouper is a family operated guesthouse with 3 rooms available for our guests. Located on the edge of town, we have a very nice view to the lake and surrounding mountains. you will feel in a rural, quiet, natural environment. our nearest neighbour is 50m away! The town´s center is only 500m away, there are several great options of souvenir shops and restaurants nearby ranging from a traditional sidewalk authentic Salvadorean "pupuseria" to a high end French-Salvadorean fusion cuisine. We operate touring options in the area that you can combine with your stay. Suchitoto historic tour: going from geological times to present day, a great intro to El Salvador´s culture and people. Kayak Birding Quezalapa river delta: an amazing time appreciating mother nature on a silent kayak! wide variety of water and forest birds can be spotted: muscovy duck, black bellied whistling duck, black crowned night heron, altamira oreole, mot-mots, egrets, kingfishers, birds of prey... we usually spot around 30 different species in a 2hr paddle-time time tour! A relaxed afternoon birding/scenic boat ride or a civil war historic hike can be arranged!
