Conveniently located just off the I-85, Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Anderson – Clemson offers comfortable accommodation and a fantastic pool deck. All rooms feature modern décor and furniture and are 100% non-smoking. They feature all the usual practical amenities such as hairdryers and telephones and also great flat screen TV’s with cable channels. While the lovely outdoor pool and deck are the stars of the show, there are many other amenities as well. Motorists will find ample onsite parking, while business guests have meeting space and a business center to help them put the finishing touches to that important presentation. A simple continental breakfast is served every day, while there are an incredible number of nearby chain restaurants available for the other two meals, including a Hooters and a Cracker Barrel. Lake Hartwell is a popular recreational area, and can be accessed just 1.5 miles from the hotel.
Guests really enjoyed the location just off the interstate. Many seemed to be through travelers, on their way to more distant destinations, and liked that they could just exit the freeway and virtually be right by the hotel.
Again and again guests mentioned how spotless their rooms were when they checked in. Even those who admitted to being “neat freaks” felt that housekeeping had done an excellent job, and in fact continued to keep the rooms in tip top shape.
Going through the reviews, one loses track of the number of guests who stated that they had received good value for money. They felt that they had got a decent, clean room in a great location for a very reasonable room rate.
As late as June 2016, guests were complaining about noise from construction crews that start their work very early in the morning. It appears the hotel is undergoing some construction or refurbishment, with the completion date unknown at this point.
A number of guests reported that their room stunk of tobacco smoke. Since the hotel is 100% non-smoking the policy must clearly have been violated. Considering the number of comments it seems that the hotel may not be very active in enforcing this policy.
Many guests mentioned that they could easily hear sounds from adjacent rooms. Of course this was not exactly conducive to good sleep, this then being dependent on the good manners of ones immediate neighbors.
