Golden Ship Hotel (The Hague, Netherlands)

The hotel is close to “China Town” near the downtown area. But the hotel itself is not actually a far walk from any part of the downtown area. Guests say that everywhere that a tourist would want to go is within a fifteen minute walk. The areas outside of the downtown area are not places tourists would want to be in.

The staff has been praised by guests for being very attentive and helpful. Often times guests have reported that the staff has gone above and beyond to assist.

For the price of the hotel and its rating it delivers on par. It is definitely a three star hotel. The price however is not indicative of the area it is in. Many guests like the 'what you see is what you get' aspect of this hotel.

Many guests were charged twice, but the second charge would not register on the actual receipt. The hotel calls this a tourist charge, but many call it underhanded. When confronted about it they reportedly will ignore you.

The rooms are reported to not of been cleaned on a regular basis and many of the tourists had to either clean it themselves or leave. The smell is pretty intense and permeates through clothes and hair. So if you want to preserve your clothing do not take anything to this hotel that could become scent stained.

Many guests have said there were bed bugs,  but the hotel has denied these claims. However guests continue to report being bitten throughout the night and guests warn others that they need to be prepared. While it IS unknown what bug specifically bit these people, it should still be mentioned that the beds could have unwanted guests.
