Both reception and the fitness centre are open 24 hours a day, so arriving on a late flight is no problem. Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the property. There is a lobby bar which serves breakfast, drinks and light meals. The airport precinct also offers a number of other good dining options. GLO Airport Helsinki is used as an airport layover hotel, and is right in Terminal 2. All the airport departure gates and other services are within walking distance.
The hotel is in fact part of Helsinki Airport's Terminal 2. Guests mention that, as an airport hotel, they couldn't possibly be located any closer to the planes, or more conveniently, than they were. They appreciated being able to walk straight off their flight, pass baggage claim and almost be at the front door.
While guests did have some issues with the rooms, cleanliness certainly wasn't one of them. Again and again guests commented on how spotlessly clean their room was when checking in.
Being in the terminal, guests were generally happy with the choices available for breakfast and other meals. They didn't feel they needed to leave the airport precinct to eat well.
As a result of its terminal position, none of the hotel rooms seem to have windows. While this didn't tend to bother most, guests who are claustrophobic, or really enjoy having a nice outlook, may be a bit unhappy in the rooms.
Like many airport hotels, the rooms at GLO Helsinki Airport are rather small. They are really designed for exhausted travellers who only need the room to bathe and catch a few hours of sleep. There is not enough room for many other purposes.
Quite a few guests make comparisons with city hotels of the same standard, but with more amenities, larger rooms and nicer outlooks, and conclude that this hotel may have been overpriced. They essentially felt overcharged for the convenient location.
