The Genting Jurong Hotel is a modern high rise, conveniently situated near both the Western Highway and Jurong East MRT Station. It offers guests comfortable eco-friendly accommodation. Rooms have a clean, modern feel and feature flat screen TV’s, tea/coffee stations, minibars and in-room safes. Free Wi-Fi is also available. There are limited facilities in the hotel itself, but there are free shuttles to Sentosa Island with its many leisure activities. A buffet breakfast is available at the hotel. For other meals there are three shopping centres in close proximity. They have food courts and other options with a wide variety of cuisines available. The Genting Jurong Hotel is out in the Western suburbs of Singapore, but still within reach of its sights and attractions. Orchard Road, and it’s shopping, is about 10 miles to the east, while the acclaimed Jurong Bird Park is only four miles to the west.
There are not many facilities in the hotel itself, so many guests were quite pleased that there were three large shopping centres very close by. They could shop for supplies, look for a bite to eat, and also be entertained, without travelling too far.
The hotel is part of the Resorts Worlds Sentosa group, and lays on a free shuttle to Sentosa Island. Guests were quite pleased, and even relieved, to be able to make their way to a more tourist and entertainment friendly area.
Provided guests only exit the parking garage once a day, parking is free of charge. Considering the high cost of motoring in Singapore a few guests found this very refreshing.
By far the biggest mark against the hotel, many guests point out that only breakfast is available at the hotel. Considering the large size of the hotel some found this astonishing. While there are nearby shopping centres with many dining options, most guests would have preferred it if there had been in-hotel lunch and dinner dining available as well.
A couple of guest commented that while not exceptionally slow, considering the very high average speed achieved in Singapore, the Wi-Fi offered by the hotel was very weak. Guests seemed to think the hotel was trying to save a few pennies for no good purpose.
Quite a few guests who booked a standard room mentioned that is was much too small for their liking, pretty much just enough space for a bed and their suitcase. The hotel does have larger suites available, so guests who like their space should consider booking one of these.
