The highlight of staying here was undoubtedly the alpine lakeside location, with guests enjoying that they were close to the waters of Lake Wakatipu and surrounded by majestic mountain scenery. In addition to this, the little settlement of Kingston was said to be peaceful and little more than a half hour's drive away from Queenstown, and many travelling through the district to places like Milford Sound found it a handy spot to stop at for a night.

Guests mentioned that the staff members working here were hospitable, attentive and very helpful in all of their dealings and winter travellers were happy to note that the heating had been turned on before they arrived, for a warm welcome.

Those who stayed in one of the many accommodation options here generally found them to be comfortable, clean, warm and equipped with all of the necessities needed for a simple stay while passing through. From reviews left by previous guests, it seems that the larger units here are very well suited to families.

A minority of guests were a bit unhappy to discover that there was only minimal dining and shopping to be found in Kingston and those who wanted to spend a lot of time in downtown Queenstown were a little disappointed by how far away they were from all of the action. The only other minor point noted was that you apparently have to pay a small fee to get access to the Wi-Fi on offer here.
