The historic building is also an ale house and guests enjoyed the wide variety of handcrafted ales and lagers served in the comfortable wood panelled bar. Food in the adjoining restaurant received numerous compliments as did the homemade breakfast.
This is a family owned and operated hotel and guests were full of compliments for the friendly and cordial staff and said they were made to feel like family.
