Bathroom facilities are shared and each cabin has its own BBQ area. Wi-Fi is available throughout. There is free parking at Camp Sandusky where two swimming pools, volleyball and basketball feature prominently in the recreational activities. There is also a launderette, plus a children’s playground and an on-site rabbit farm. McDonald’s is across the road! Walk a bit further to discover Casa Fiesta, Burger King and The Pie factory + Pizzeria. Pizza delivery can be arranged and there is an on-site mini-market. An ‘all you can eat’ pancake breakfast is available and breakfast alternative choices are at nearby restaurants including Denny’s; open 24 hours. Cedar Point Amusement Park is less than six miles away and it’s only a little further to Kalahari Waterpark Resort.
The playground is imaginative and provides hours of diversion and fun for the kids. So much so that this is the focal point of their visit and they can't wait to return. It has to be admitted that seeing the kids playing so enthusiastically can easily sway the parents in the direction of an early return visit, too.
It's only a short journey to Cedar point so, after a long day there, you really don't want a long drive home. Kids, in particular, love the pancake breakfasts here, nearly as much as the bunny farm - so that keeps them occupied!
Owners and members of staff are friendly and very helpful. The air conditioned cabins are worth paying the extra for - particularly if you've brought the family dog along.
Cabins are very cramped and have a very strange smell. Beds are harder than hard. There are only two lights.
The pool, when busy and not cleaned regularly, can get into a poor and unappealing state. This doesn't encourage anyone to take a longed for dip.
If camping here, prepare to be dismayed at the tiny area that's allocated to you. Everyone is cramped together and your area is little more than a patch of grass. It isn't cheap either; very overpriced. To add insult to injury, they have the cheek to charge extra for the Wi-Fi! Yup, if you're in a cabin … air con is extra too. It gets worse; the only inflatables allowed in the pool are the ones that are purchased on-site! Bit of a mean trick.
