About 1932 House

In 1932 Heins Crüys bought ground in Walvis Bay, Erf 260 on the corner of 8th street west and 3rd road, as it is still known today. On 13 May 1932 he started construction on his house and horse stables. The horses were used as working animals in the harbor. Only the outlines of the original stables can still be seen. The Idea of 1932 House is to combine the beautiful and unique architecture of the 1900s combined with a elegant, yet subtle touch of our modern day lifestyle. Aside from the unique decor and architectural structures, Walvis Bay offers a wide variety of activities and excursions to pass the time and to see the only place in the world, where the Desert and the Sea meets. Our Rooms are fully equipped with any essentials you might need including: Fresh mineral water, Coffee, Tea Sugar etc. There is a flat screen television in every room equipped with a multitude of channels for your viewing pleasure. There is a mini-fridge in every room. We have restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance and between the The Guesthouse and the Restaurants, we have the Lagoon where you can see the beautiful pink feathered Flamingos. Our main aim @ 1932 House is to tend to our Guest and ensure that their stay is as comfortable and memorable as possible.
