Only organic and locally grown foods are served on premises. There are recycling bins in every room. Rent one of the complimentary bikes and ride to the beach instead of driving. If you have a longer road trip, Hybrid car rental is also available onsite. In addition, if you're arriving by a hybrid car, you'll receive preferred parking onsite.
Aside from the complimentary breakfast, the hotel has lots of free amenities. Guests appreciated the local area shuttle and not having to worry about finding parking in Santa Monica. If you'd like to get some exercise on your way to the beach, bike rentals are always complimentary. Wi-Fi is also free on the entire property. Looking for a night in? Even though the hotel is only two miles (approximately 20 blocks) from the beach, guests thought it was too far to comfortably go to and from every day and not the most interesting route to walk. If you don't want the hassle of driving, the hotel's complimentary shuttle will take you within three miles of the hotel.
While most guests have had no problems, several did complain about a lack of hot water. The shower had to run for several minutes to warm up properly, not a very eco-friendly habit.
