You can walk virtually anywhere from here + although it's only a 5 minute walk to the open shopping market, it's well worth taking a day out to travel the fantastic mountain pass to Elafonisi beach.

There's plenty of choice with few, if any, surcharges for extra items. There are other breakfasting opportunities nearby but the breakfast here is well worth a try. Very good.

Rooms are individually designed and have some real appeal. Wi-Fi is surprisingly good and windows are double gazed. Top of the popular accommodation, though, is the Ceramic Suite. It has a roof garden and is the ultimate in privacy and luxury. If it's available ... grab it!

The racket from drunken revellers and accompanying music goes on well into the early hours. This is followed by staff going through an intensive clearing up programme in readiness for the next day. The electrically controlled blind/canopy is incredibly noisy. Then, just as you are finally dropping off, the sun rises on another day!

Apart from a noticeable lack of staff at the check-in point, there are some pitfalls in the rooms themselves. There seems to be a national shortage of soap and if you can somehow manage without toilet paper, you'll be thrilled with what is offered here.

Rooms do vary in size but, if you've drawn the short straw, prepare to be disappointed with the size of the room.
